Cosmic Space (Kosmischer Raum) ist ein Werk, das dem ALEPH Gitarrenquartett zu seinem 30-jährigen Bestehen gewidmet ist. Das Stück ist inspiriert von einem Satz aus der Kurzgeschichte "Das Aleph" des argentinischen Schriftstellers Jorge Luis Borges: "Der Durchmesser des Alephs würde zwei oder drei Zentimeter betragen, aber der kosmische Raum war da, ohne sich zu verkleinern. Jedes Ding (z. B. der Mond im Spiegel) war ein unendliches Ding, weil ich es von allen Punkten des Universums aus deutlich sehen konnte". Borges stellt unser Verständnis von Zeit in Frage, indem er vorschlägt, dass sie ein multidimensionales und simultanes Phänomen ist, in dem alle Dinge in einem unendlich großen Raum koexistieren. Die Realität, und in diesem Fall auch der Klang, ist subjektiv und wird durch die Perspektive des Betrachters vermittelt. Dieses Werk lädt uns dazu ein, über das Wesen der Musik und des Kosmos nachzudenken. (LondonHall Editions)

Cosmic Space is a work dedicated to the ALEPH Gitarrenquartett on its 30th anniversary. The piece is inspired by a phrase from the short story "The Aleph" by the Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges: "The diameter of the Aleph would be two or three centimetres, but the cosmic space was there, without diminishing in size. Each thing (the moon in the mirror, for example) was infinite things, because I could clearly see it from all points of the universe". Borges challenges our understanding of time by proposing that it is a multidimensional and simultaneous phenomenon, in which all things coexist in an infinitely large space. Reality, and in this case also sound, is subjective and mediated by the perspective of the observer. This work invites us to reflect on the nature of music and the cosmos. (LondonHall Editions)

Cosmic Space (Espacio Cósmico) es una obra dedicada al ALEPH Gitarrenquartett en su 30 aniversario. La pieza se inspira en una frase del cuento "El Aleph" del escritor argentino Jorge Luis Borges: "El diámetro del Aleph sería de dos o tres centímetros, pero el espacio cósmico estaba ahí, sin disminución de tamaño. Cada cosa (la luna del espejo, por ejemplo) era infinitas cosas, porque yo claramente la veía desde todos los puntos del universo". Borges desafía nuestra comprensión del tiempo al proponer que es un fenómeno multidimensional y simultáneo, en el que todas las cosas coexisten en un espacio infinitamente grande. La realidad, y en este caso también del sonido, es subjetiva y está mediada por la perspectiva del observador. Esta obra invita a reflexionar sobre la naturaleza de la música y el cosmos.
