CONCERT NOTE
Witt develops a flute-percussion model in which the “parasite noise” produced by the instrument’s keys is part of the essential sonority of the piece; non controlled columns of harmonics are generated by the interaction of the keys’ noise and the injection of air to the instrument. This harmonic-noise joins the well defined sounds of the common flute technique, resulting a complex sound perceived through the piece. These two mechanical aspects -air and percussion- explore the timbric diversity of the flute, integrated independently into the piece.
