Concert note
As in other recent works, my aim in this piece is to look for a constant change of the sonic-color palette, as if we where observing light and shadow in a picture. Certainly, I like to design an overlay of foreground and background of the sonic space: the idea of a “musical labyrinth” without exit is intriguing me while I compose. There is a continuous tension. In Tonic the four guitars are like twins reflected in a mirror where faces appear overlapped, no one can recognize his own body; each one is part of the other. Tonic is dedicated to Aleph Gitarrenquartett and has been supported by the Austrian Ministry of Culture.
