Arturo Fuentes - Elisa Urrestarazu - Pilar Rius
Ruido de Levante (2020) Madrid, Spain. 3 December 2020 for tenor saxophone and e-guitar. World premiere ![]() Ruido de Levante (Noise of Levante) is a wavering sonic exploration between brightness and darkness. In this work dedicated to the unusual combination of saxophone and guitar, the colourist palette of the composer Arturo Fuentes changes drastically like the wind that comes from the sea: the Levante. Detailed notes of color are appreciated, as well as a rich expressive range that allows him to investigate the metaphor of light and color, both pictorial-sound materials typical of Fuentes. Sometimes it also surprises us with whispers of nowhere that are mixed between emptiness, noise and harmony. The two instruments fold, intersect, blurring like two bodies floating in the waves.
LondonHall Editions 2020 In the course of these two decades Arturo Fuentes (Austrian citizen, born in México in 1975) has created a very diverse catalogue of over a hundred works. In the last years he started to create the scenography and to direct his own music theatre projects, like the opera-monodrama Carlota (2018) dedicated to Sarah Maria Sun and the Klangforum Wien. His catalogue consists of chamber, vocal and orchestral music and mixed works with electronics, as well as electroacoustic works, staged concerts, dance performances and short films that he has directed and produced.
